For a much better bargain than the tourist markets, head to Mapusa to buy your spices.

Cinnamon, cumin, sugar-coated fennel seeds, various curry powders and spice mixes, cadamom, white poppy seeds, ajwain seeds, star anise, peppercorns, mustard seeds, cassia bark, nutmeg, coriander seeds, turmeric, dried chillis and saffron. We found the vanilla pods a little on the expensive side.
