At the centre of the action
The centre of Baga’s nightlife is Tito’s Road. Its lower end is dominated by the complex that gives it its name – Tito’s Restaurant, Tito’s Nightclub, and Mambo’s pub. We’re really not night-club types so we gave that a miss, but we did enjoy quite a few visits to Mambo's, which is an open air pub situated where Tito’s Road meets the beach. It became our favourite spot for after dinner drinks and I think I gradually worked my way through their comprehensive cocktail list ;-)
Our other favourite drinking spot was a small bar higher up the road, i.e. nearer the Baga Road and further from the beach. This was Kamaki, with a small outdoor seating area right on the street, where we often enjoyed a pre-dinner drink while watching all the action. There was much more seating inside, and TVs showing European football matches. The bar staff were friendly and we also got to know the owner of a small crafts shop next door which was open quite late at night and where we eventually made several purchases, including a lovely Buddha’s head carving.
Depends where you're going but mostly it's pretty relaxed and anything goes - but not too much of anything, as it can be hot here even at night!
