The grassy Azad Maidan (Freedom park) is centered on a small pavillion, which houses a modern sculpture dedicated to freedom fighter and "Father of Goan Nationalism" Dr. Tristao de Braganza Cunha (1891-1958). The Dome edifice formerly held staute of Afanso de Albuquerque that now stands in the Old Goa Museum.
