Divar Island is accessed by ferry on the north side from Old Goa. The ferries travel frequently during the day. The picturesque countryside of Divar Island features rice fields and wooded hills.
Piedade, a typical Goan village is located at the bottom of a small, forested hill on Divar Island. The main attraction is the Church of Our Lady of Compassion that has been rebuilt to include an impressive Baroque facade. The original Lady Divar Church dated from 1699 to 1724. The interior features interesting stuccowork, Baroque plaster decorations and altars.
Views from the top of the hill offer impressive panoramic views of the surrounding countryside on Divar Island, including Old Goa and the Mandovi River.
