Inarguably the queen of beaches in North Goa, Calangute beach is the place where one can spend the most unforgettable times of the lifetime. Accompanied by Candolim and Baga beaches on both the sides, Calangute is the vacationers' paradise where seaside is the stage that is always bustling with celebrations galore. Discovered by the hippies in the late 60s, Calangute beach once enjoyed a rare honor of being a close witness to Bollywood socialising. Tourists flock to this beach to have a ball of time at the beach or at the night-spots. Candolim-Calangute-Baga road is lined with shops that offer some interesting shopping experiences. Life is always young at Calangute beach and always partying...rightly so! Swim whim: Calangute is a reasonably safe place to swim. Getting there: From Dabolim airport - 48 km. From Panjim station - 16 km Pre-paid taxi would cost around Rs 600.
